Memorial Forest
This magnificent 3800-acre forest is a remnant
of an old growth cove hardwood forest. Twelve miles northwest of
Robbinsville, NC, off Hwy 143.
Just north of Bryson City, this part of the
Great Smoky Mountains National Park offers hiking trails, waterfalls,
tubing and streams for trout fishing.
An Appalachiian Evening summer concert series presents live mountain music; the Stecoah Artisans Gallery features handmade arts and crafts; crafts and cooking classes.
With more than a half-million acres divided
equally between North Carolina and Tennessee, the Smokies' beauty
attracts more vistors than any other national park.
